We are all Mummadaddas.
Yes, you too. If you believe in ideas, nurture them, allow them to grow and find their own language you'll be bringing something better into the world.
And it will probably be rewarded and chosen by your audiences because you thought about them, and something longer lasting than the turn of a dime.
We believe creativity is still the most powerful and 'probably the last unfair advantage we're legally allowed to take over our competitors'*.
Strip away the media and the channels and we believe that brands and organisations still need to get results in terms of engagement and making money.
To do this, traditionally, they then have to decide which kind of marketing they need to do to get those results. So, they pick an agency. And that agency is often set up to do a certain kind of work. So they get that kind of work. Their budget is then minced through a proprietary approach, a set of processes, tools and confirmation biases that work best for the agency. But is it best for the brand? Or, perhaps more importantly, their customers?
What has always been important are ideas. And the media or the channels, are merely ‘the rails that the idea runs upon’. The rails change over time, but when all is said and done, people engage with, talk about and share ideas that connect to them. And they reward brands that do this for them, by choosing their product or service over others.
Mummadadda are totally free and open to non-proprietary ways of helping brands find the best performing solutions. One of our solutions might very well be to work alongside a brand’s in house team. It makes sense to, as who would know your business better than the people who work there? In a collaborative relationship we can help them unlock levels of creativity and coach the brand to truly sing from the centre outwards.
Mummadadda are led by Andy McLane, a highly experienced and strategically minded creative director /strategist and strategist, who has a long history of getting results and awards for clients in every media. Working with a loose hand picked network of creative makers and shakers, we have the unique freedom and perspective to select the right message and match it to the most effective media.
No, more a free agent. We do work with agencies, but love working directly with brands, preferably in house. It gets us all to better work, quicker.
Yes, we’ve worked in pretty much every sector but gambling and tobacco.
We love transforming categories that were hitherto seen as creatively unpromising. If it’s a good business it has creative promise. Every brand has a story to unlock. If you work with Mummadadda hold your breath, expect attention, results and awards.
Mummadadda are fluent in pixels and ink, and loyal to no media. We’re on the side of people and believe brands want to be better at connecting with their customers. We’re small and perfectly formed to get you to the work you need to do to get results, not what your current agency might be 'set up' to sell to you.
Andy's 6 year old daughter's first word was 'Mummadadda'. She clearly didn't see a reason to distinguish between Dad and Mum. Maybe she was onto something. We're all increasingly living in an age where the old labels are breaking down and becoming meaningless. Not just in a 'post demographic' society, but in the marketing world too. In any given week Mummadadda is creatively fluent enough to work with The British Army, Long Tall Sally or Evans Cycles , all in tandem. All of these brands benefitted from believing that they could be do better in business by doing better by people. And by fostering and looking after ideas that spoke more meaningfully to their audience they were being creative Mummadaddas too.
We work with a variety of organisations - white labeled, transparently or directly. Above are just a few that we’ve helped over the last year:
